Is there any way to get mildew out of clothes?
Answer
A mixture of salt, vinegar, and water (up to full-strength vinegar, depending on the amount of mildew) will work on most fabrics. You can remove mildew stains from white fabrics by rubbing them with a mixture of lemon juice and salt, then placing the items in the sun. Or try these old-fashioned mildew solutions: Soak mildewed items in a strong tea made from thyme, or soak overnight in buttermilk, then wash.
