I’ve heard about “freeze planting” some kinds of perennials. What is this?
Answer
To sow perennial phlox outdoors, for example, fill an ice cube tray with water, put two or three phlox seeds in each compartment, and freeze for five to six weeks. Then plant the seeds, cube and all, in the soil. By the following summer, the plant will be mature enough to bloom.
