Asian jumping worms have changed the way we look at earthworms. They populate the upper regions of the soil, eating any and all organic matter, and are not a good indicator of soil health. Unfortunately once you have them in your soil they are impossible to get rid of. See post on them at www.almanac.com/watch-out-jumping-worms-over-dozen-states.
