I tend to become exothermic when I sleep so if I wear socks to bed, I will wake up about two hours later with uncomfortably hot feet... if it's really cold when I go to bed, I use a microwaveable hot pack to warm the foot of the bed so once I get to sleep, it doesn't continue to heat or insulate my feet.
